The Airport Authority takes an active role in the community, supporting charitable causes and community or industry events, as well as making speeches and presentations annually to various groups and organizations.
Members of our executive committee serve on a broad spectrum of community and industry boards, task forces and committees. The Airport Authority also strongly supports the volunteer efforts of employees, many of whom are coaches, canvassers and fundraisers in the community.
Consultation
We seek input from the community through several forums, including our Environmental Advisory and Aeronautical Noise Management committees. A broad cross-section of interests is represented on the committees, which meet regularly to discuss issues and concerns.
The
Environmental Advisory Committee, with representatives from community and environmental groups, industry, government and the Musqueam Indian Band, provides input on the Airport Authority's Environmental Management Program.
The
Aeronautical Noise Management Committee has representatives from communities, airlines, industry associations, NAV Canada, and governments. It addresses aircraft noise issues, and is used as a forum to discuss mitigation programs and to solicit input on noise management initiatives.
Communication
In addition to speeches, presentations and consultative committees, the Airport Authority communicates to stakeholders through a number of avenues, including:
