The Airport Authority provides statistical information each month on passenger, cargo and aircraft movement traffic. The data tables can be obtained by clicking on the menu items at the left. The monthly traffic data are preliminary and while best efforts are made to insure accuracy and updating of this internet site, delays may occur and revisions to the data are sometimes made at year-end.

Also available are the forecasts of future air traffic at the airport. These forecasts are prepared by Transport Canada.

It should be noted that the base data used for the forecasts is somewhat different than that reported in the Airport Authority's monthly data tables on passengers, cargo and aircraft movements. The Airport Authority's monthly data are based on "site statistics", data directly reported by air carriers to the airport. The data used in the forecasts are based on data officially reported by the airlines to Statistics Canada.

The Statistics Canada reporting procedures differ from the site statistics in several ways. There are two important differences. Statistics Canada data are only for revenue passengers whereas the site statistics include non-revenue passengers such as those travelling on frequent flyer bonuses, airline employee travel, etc. In addition, the Statistics Canada data exclude a number of small air carriers, while the site statistics data is more comprehensive.

In 1996, the difference between the two data sources was 1.05 million passengers, largely due to non-revenue passengers.
