The Airport Authority has been working over the past eight years on developing marked cycling lanes on Sea Island. Currently the following roads have marked cycling lanes adjacent to the traffic lanes:
- Russ Baker Way
- Sections of Grant McConachie Way
- Templeton Street
- Ferguson Road
- Sections of Miller Road
- Cessna Road
There are also separate cycling routes:
- From Arthur Laing Bridge westbound to Grant McConachie Way westbound
- From Airport connector Bridge westbound to Arthur Laing northbound
- From Airport Connector Bridge westbound to Grant McConachie Way westbound
- From Airport Connector Bridge westbound to North Airport Road
- From Cessna Drive & Miller to North Airport Road (under Airport Connector Bridge)
- Between Templeton Street (south end) and Russ Baker Way
There are bicycle racks available:
- Outside of the International Terminal building on Level 2
- At the Airport Station bus loop
- In the 'M' parking lot
- At the Air Services Building at the South Terminal
- For employees on Level 1 of the Domestic Terminal in the cycling facility
Although, not separated from traffic, there are marked cycling lanes on the Arthur Laing Bridge leading to Vancouver, and wider lanes on the Number 2 Road Bridge into Richmond. Cyclists can also consider a combination of cycling and transit as most transit buses are outfitted with front-mounted bicycle racks.
